Finger Lakes Advanced Manufacturers Enterprise (FAME)

FAME is a partnership of manufacturers supported by regional workforce and economic development agencies whose primary goals are to increase development and prosperity in the Finger Lakes region through manufacturing networks, mentoring youth on the attractions of a career in manufacturing, and helping them to prepare for successful careers. 

  • Run by manufacturers for the benefit of manufacturers 
  • Provides opportunity for all advanced manufacturing companies in the Finger Lakes region to collaborate and discuss common issues 
  • Attracts the best people into manufacturing field in order to maintain our competitive advantages and provide exciting careers in our region 
  • An exclusive network created to get things done. 

FAME has identified four primary areas of activity:

  • Networking: establish regular high value meetings, roundtables, speakers and events for senior management professionals where they can share “best practices” and establish relationships with other public and private support organizations.
  • Image / Pipeline: spark interest in youth in pursuing manufacturing careers so the pool of qualified candidates grows advanced manufacturers will be able to choose from a larger pool of skilled prospective employees
  • Hiring: improve collaboration with workforce sources and help companies recruit and hire skilled workers.
  • Training: work to direct curriculum development and worker training, focusing on the adaptability and retraining of our existing workforce.
