May 2014 Business of the Month!

GENEVA, New York – The Finger Lakes Workforce Investment Board (FLWIB), Inc. announced today that Esperanza Mansion is May’s “Business of the Month”, recognizing the businesses contributions to the community and to the local economy.

Esperanza is owned and operated by father and son team David and Mike Wegman. It has been in operation since 2003 after renovations to the original and historic mansion itself and the addition of the Esperanza Lodge, adding greatly to their lodging capacity.

The Esperanza, located in Bluff Point, sits high on a hill overlooking Keuka Lake. It offers one of the most stunningly beautiful vistas of the area. The restaurant at the Esperanza offers seasonal lunch and dinner menus and both indoor and outdoor dining.

The banquet facility has hosted many community functions over the past years, and has become extremely popular as a wedding destination/location.  The FLWIB and the Yates County Career Center has worked closely with the Esperanza staff over the years to facilitate their staffing and hiring efforts. Services have included job postings with the New York State Job Bank along with Onsite Recruitment events like the one held on May 16 at Finger Lakes Works Yates County Career Center. Individuals interested in a career in the Hospitality industry can contact the Finger Lakes Works Yates County Career Center about opportunities at Esperanza.

“Hospitality and Tourism are major economic drivers in the Finger Lakes region and we are proud to recognize the Esperanza Mansion for their efforts to promote the beauty as well as the employment opportunities in the region” said Karen Springmeier, Executive Director, FLWIB.
